Expense Tracker ("the app") is a personal finance tool that helps its user record and categorize transactions from bank statements and receipts, and store the results in the user's own Google Sheets. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is used.

Data we access

When you connect your Google Account, the app requests access to:

How your data is used

Transaction data you submit (via bank statement uploads, receipt photos, or the Telegram bot) is processed to extract and categorize line items, then written to your own Google Sheets/Docs. Categorization may use a third-party AI service (OpenAI) to classify transaction text; only the transaction text needed for categorization is sent, not your Google account credentials or broader account data.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Data is not used to train AI models.

Data storage and retention

Your financial data lives in your own Google Sheets/Docs, which you control and can delete at any time via Google Drive. The app's server stores authentication tokens needed to act on your behalf, and operational logs, until you revoke access or request deletion.

Revoking access

You can revoke the app's access to your Google Account at any time via Google Account → Security → Third-party access.
