Expense Tracker is a personal finance tool that turns bank statements and receipts into an
organized, categorized record of your spending — stored in a Google Sheet you own and control.
What it does
Reads uploaded bank statement files (CSV/PDF) and receipt photos, and extracts individual
transactions.
Automatically categorizes each transaction (e.g. groceries, utilities, transport) using
AI-assisted text classification.
Writes the categorized transactions into a Google Sheet, so you get a running ledger you can
view, filter, and edit like any spreadsheet.
Generates summary reports and trend analysis as Google Docs, on request.
Is operated through a Telegram bot and a small companion web dashboard, so you can submit
statements/receipts and review results from your phone.
Why it needs access to your Google account
The app writes to Google Sheets and Google Docs on your behalf, and only touches files it
creates itself or that you explicitly open with it (Drive access is limited to the
drive.file scope — it cannot browse or read the rest of your Drive). See the
Privacy Policy for the full breakdown of data accessed and how it's used.
